Magic allows us to repeatedly capture those moments that not only shape our lives, but can extend the possibilities of our existence. Those moments when we know the Cosmos with an elation and understanding that transcends words, when we become more than a single isolated individual, burdened by a causal existence.

In Black Magic, the fundamental point is and remains the nexion. This means that in form and content (for example in the techniques used to draw magical energy) Black Magic is effective if aimed at opening and exploiting the nexion. This means much more than "producing emotion". A Black Magic ritual is not magical because it induces emotion. The emotion occurs or should arise from the performance of the ritual, from the effort and talent of the Satanist performing the ritual. These means of access represent certain elements of the acausal in an accessible form, such as archetypes or sinister symbols. This requires what might be called a kind of “artistic creation” – and this itself can be of varying quality, as in music or all creative activity. However, most creations, like rituals, are not effective: they do not have the acausal, although they may produce emotion and the occasional insight.

But emotion is not magic – and it bears repeating. Just as “intellectual stimulation” and/or unruly behavior are not “magical rituals,” even if they seem similar. A creation, a ritual, becomes magical if and only if it opens a nexion, regardless of the intent of the person or persons who undertake this creation. So, no amount of desire, no amount of intellectual knowledge can create a ritual that is magically effective. In short, authentic ritual is a conscious causal expression of aspects of the acausal, and the celebration lives in both the causal and the acausal. Hence the power of ritual to transform.

Dark Witchcraft, esoterically and correctly understood, is therefore:

1. The use, by an individual or group, of acausal energy, either directly or through symbolism, forms, rituals, words, chants (or similar manifestations, or similar presenteeism in causal constructs), where this use often involves one or more specific temporal (causal) targets; and

2. The bringing forth, or presence, in the causal and through a nexion, of acausal entities.

The authentic Sinister Grimoires are therefore texts that give instructions on how these entities are or can be "called" into the causal and how a nexion or nexions for the acausal can be opened to allow these entities (and/or these acausal energies) to manifest (or be present) in our causal continuum: that is, here on Earth or in our consciousness or in the consciousness of another human being or other human beings. The essence of Sinister Magic literally involves union with certain acausal entities, in the physical sense of nurturing, releasing and uniting with the demon on a spiritual level.

From a practical standpoint, union with certain acausal entities can occur in several ways. First, by invoking them through Dark Witchcraft, within oneself. Second, by evoking them and then, again through Dark Witchcraft, by having a candidate (a mortal, willing or not) who is a recipient for the summoned entity. Third, by opening a physical gateway and calling the Dark Gods into our causal realm.

Dark Witchcraft is therefore not only an esoteric Art, but it is also a dangerous occupation. It can sometimes lead to madness, very often it leads the person to delude themselves, to become grandiloquent and/or to descend into that superficial and vulgar attitude in which the useful capacities of reason, self-control and esoteric balance have been lost. Dark Witchcraft, however, is also a means through which we can understand ourselves, develop and evolve, and even disrupt/change our societies.
